Second, registries as a cultural concept are just weird. If you have an idea for a gift you think we would like, you officially have our permission to go off-registry. In particular, we're soliciting ideas for fun activities and games to do together while we live apart this coming year. Or perhaps if you have an old kitchen gadget or serving dish that you don't use that much, that could work too.

Finally, some notes about the registry itself:

• If you would prefer to give money rather than a gift, there is an option to do so through the online registry. However it goes through PayPal and is subject to the associated fees. You are also welcome to send us a card or bring one to the wedding.
• The website sometimes shows the wrong image for the listed item. Know that the links are all correct even if the associated image doesn't match once you click through.
• We are registered at Amazon, and many of the items on our registry can be purchased there. If you do that, you should get free shipping. On the other hand, if you'd prefer, most items are also available at other retailers or directly through the manufacturer. Just remember to go back and mark the item off on the registry if you buy it that way.
